Usonyx hasn't come back to me.
http://www.caricature.com.sg/ and http://www.caricaturist-jit.blogspot.com/ don't work on my laptop and my son's laptop.
http://www.caricature.com.sg/ works , but http://www.caricaturist-jit.blogspot.com/ does't work on my PC.
Same for Wilfred's case.
Don't know what to do now.
Maybe just wait awhile before I do updates on my website again.

www.caricature com.sg is down!
Down. Don't know why. Contact Usonyx but not working on weekends. Very bad techincal support. Changed the url back to the original blogger url to caricaturist-jit.blogspot.com on my website. But individual posts are down. This will affect me a lot as my links on search engines all direct to http://www.caricature.com.sg/
Got to complain to them on Mon. 2 days. How much is the loss?!!!

Caricature for AustCham
Client's brief:-
"Purpose of the caricature is a thank you present for our outgoing President.
I feel that it could have him with mouth open making a speech as he did during his time as president.
As long as it depicts him candidly making a statement this will be fine.
Dressed in a suit and red tie will be good."
Pretty straightforward job. Just that this caricature is A2 size, larger than the A3 size, which I usually worked on .
Feedback from the client:-
"Hi Jit
I imagine that Annette has already sent you a message, but I have to say that the print is excellent and everyone, including the recipient absolutely loved it!!!!
Brilliant work.
Nigel"

Two lady portraits in watercolour
Orders from the same client, but ordered few days after the first order was placed.
He told me that these 2 ladies would like to get their portrait done, but don't know where to get it done.
Thus, he decided to give them a portrait each for their birthday presents, though the first one was belated. He searched online and got my contacts.
These 2 portraits was done concurrently. While waiting for one to dry, I move on to the other portrait. Another advantage was that I don't have to mix my pallette again.
Pencil sketch. In fact my Sony F717 wasn't that bad. Still can capture the paper texture.
Hahaha.... just that I like my Nikon D80 more.
To be frank, I like the shades done till this stage. Very soft and light. But from the customer's point of view, it is incomplete. So, have to move on from here.
This is what the majority think as completed artwork.
Applied the wet-on-wet method to show the watercolour effect. Some dry strokes to give some strength to the drawing.
This portrait was not an easy job.
The angle she faced was three-quarter view, tilted her head and looking up.
Her features are not that distinct. What makes it worse is the relatively under-exposed photo provided. Top of the photo was cropped off. I have to complete the full head based on imagination.
Besides taking care of all these, the most important factor for a good portrait was to capture the subject's mood, besides the expression. This was what I have been working on for my portrait artworks all these years.
Still think the portrait looked good at this stage.
Completed with darker shades and wet-on-wet method.
Sounds fast and easy to you, but took me quite sometime to complete them.

Caricature for Cornell University
Client's brief:-
"Details are as follows:
- This is a new school principal so please find a spot for the words
"Principal Sherwood"
- He is Canadian and a huge hockey fan so it would be appropriate for him to
be in a hockey jersey, with stick and skates (a maple leaf on the jersey
would be great - see photo)
- As he is currently a teacher, is there a way we could put something
scholastic looking in the photo: like a stack of books, apple, globe?
- And I really like your style after looking at samples on your blog. I
like that you don't make people look too distorted and goofy. "
Since she mentioned that, cannot distort him too much. Hahaha.....
Client's comment upon receiving this framed caricature:-
'Wow, fabulous. That is very very nice. Thank you so much!!!"

Caricature of Nani

Think Nani should be famous for his somersault on the soccer field, based on the photos I saw online. Tried some somersault postures for him, but look wierd, and not feasible for mobile wallpaper. Graphically, it doesn't work.
Thus, I picked on this posture which I saw on one of his wallpaper.
Is sticking his tongue out to the right one of his favourites?
Guess so. That's why I picked this photo.
Don't want his face looked too brown and too dark.
I cut down on the amount of dark brown colours, add in some grey shades. Seems like it works better than the Thierry Henry's caricature.

Caricature of Bastian Schweinsteiger

Saw a few photos of Bastian Schweinsteiger on Google Images.
Looks rather different, especially on the forehead part, right above his eyebrows. Quite protruded. Should be fun to draw, but afraid that my client would reject, since he seldom looks like that. To play safe, this round, I choose this photo.
I still like to see the pencil sketches. So much emotions inside, as compared to those 2 more refined versions below.

With the colours and shades added in, his chin looks especially long.

Caricature of Jens Lehman

Since I am not familiar with these soccer players, I have to do my own research online for their photos, even though the client has sent me some. I will need to know their unique expression (if there is), the features from different angles etc in order to better capture their essence, when I am caricaturing and sculpturing their face on paper. Thus, quite a lot of work here, but I think it is worth the effort.
Curly hairs.
His eyes reminded me of current US President George Bush.
You may notice that I drew his body going in the different direction from the angle he faced.
This is what I like to do usually.
First, it looks different from the photo.
Second, it creates the X-factor when you twist their body around, and yet looks good and fun.
(Oops! Seems like I am revealing too much of my drawing tips to my competitors recently.)
If I don't mention, I bet that you won't notice this, as I don't post up clients' photos due to privacy issues.
This one is different, as these soccer stars are famous and their photos are all online.
Certain pencil lines are not inked in, as I want to use the colour to bring out the shades.
I remembered where the shades will be when I am sketching it in pencil. Thus, even without the pencil shades, there isn't any problem in the rendering part.

Caricature of Michael Ballack

When I first saw this photo, I have the urge to start caricaturing him.
I believe I will enjoy the whole drawing process.
The client also wanted me to emphasize on the lips.
This is what I am thinking too.
Beside this, the curly hairstyle, deeply sunken and droopy eyes, and eyebrows.
The pencil sketch is done. Here, I determine where the shading will be done.
I emphasize on his cheek bones, with a slightly more off-centre nose and lips. Since I drew him holding the soccer ball, my next inspiration is to get him kissed the ball.
Inking done. Quite a lot of substance are gone when the pencil lines are erased. If I don't scan it as a record, the pencil sketch will never be seen. I think it is a shame.
Though I like the raw and original pencil sketch, with the colours shaded in, I like this coloured caricature more. It is a more refined version. Totally different feel.
Shiok! I must say I am really having fun with this caricature.

Caricature of Petr Cech

Another soccer star player - Petr Cech, the goalkeeper. Upon seeing this, it tells you that I got the 100 caricatures job. So more tough jobs ahead, given that I have to complete the 36 CNB book illustrations on hand to be completed, and daily orders coming in from other clients, and some urgent jobs. One word to describe - DEAD!!!
I like pencil sketches. From there, I can tell what the artist is trying to expression when he did the sketch. Just like when I read comics, the comic artists like to put the pencil sketches with colour schemes, shades for the next coming issue. It is very raw and original.
It could be a tough job, as I have to do it for every stage, meaning 3 x 100 caricatures. That will be 300 scanning to do. But, I think it is worth it, as a collection of these 100 soccer caricatures. Can compile into a book next time.
Petr Cech has quite a long face, sunken eyes, curly brown hair with sideburn.
These are what I need to take note for this caricature.
I drew him in a 'ready-to-catch' posture.
Didn't put in a full shadow this time, as I intended to do something different.
Getting clearer with the ink outline done.
Colour marker has its own beauty.
I pay special attention in creating a multi-layered flat tone for his face, to create the sculptural shading and bring out the 3-dimensional form of the head, as I have done for Thierry Henry's caricature.
As for the shadow, I put in a cool blue plus green and dark green, to contrast with the light falling on his face.
The cream-coloured glove will be too raw, if I use in alone. Thus, I add in some shades of grey and some pen hatches to create the weathered and seasoned feel.
Upon receiving the artwork, the client told me that she wants the protective gear on Petr Cech's head, as that is his trademark. He put it on in his recent matches.
Heard from Wilfred that he injured his skull, and have to put it on. Thought that was temporary.
Since she insisted, I have to draw in the protective gear. This was scanned into digital copy,
and put on his head (But got to delete the curly hair at the back). Haha!! Feels like those 2D paper dolls which my sisters used to play during their childhood, whereby you get those clothes, hats etc and hang on the paper doll.

Caricature for BASF

A farewell gift.
His favourite sport is tennis. Thus, I drew him in action.
The client told me that he can see Raffles City, Raffles Hotel from his ofice in Suntec.
As a remembrance of his work in Singapore, the client wanted to include Suntec City in the background too.
A hiccup here. Forgot to add in the text as per requested. Thus, got to take it out from the frame, add in, and send back for my frame supllier to seal it back.

Cheeky caricature in pencil

Quite fun to draw, because of her cheeky expression.
My Nikon D80 finally failed on me. It collapsed just now when I was snapping my kids at the Botanical Gardens. Luckily, it was still under the extended 4 years warranty by Harvey Norman. It failed right after the 1 year warranty. Coincidental? Or because not Made In Japan?
Will be sending it down to Nikon Service Centre for repair. See what reason they give me.
Anyway, I got to fall back to my Sony DIgital Camera F717. Lower quality, but still acceptable, given that this is the next best camera I have on hand.

Caricature live sketching for Temasek Holdings Fun Day
Did caricature live sketching for Temasek Holdings Family Day 2 years ago.
Same venue at Raffles Marina at Tuas.
Yes. Very far. To and fro 80km+ from my house.
The event company - Carrey Hill Productions likes to hold their events here.
By the way, the boss Kitson has been engaging me as their event caricaturist since 1997.
Considered long term working partner.
This time is a 3 hour event, not at the ballroom, but at the Chart Room.
Quite a deserted place as compared to the former as there are no food here. Hahaha....
I was placed with the massagers.
And the guests came in quite late after their outdoor activities downstairs.
Kicked start with this lady.
Noticed the poor lighting of this photo?
My Nikon D80 started giving me error message of R07 (think it started few weeks back, but getting serious today).
Thought it had to do with my SB800 flash.
Thus I took it out. Still the same error.
No choice and no time, but to snap and go on with the next guest.
Using the in-built flash.
Not very nice shot, as I always don't like direct flash photoshots, but better than no flash, and the above one.
Didn't know they are sisters (see the second photo from top) till they told me.
Thought he is related to my mentor Robin Ho somehow, as his features look similar to me.
His smile, teeth and eyes.
But his surname is Khoo. So very unlikely related.
This lady also one of the sisters (see second and third photos from top)
See the problem of direct flash, especially the highlights on her face?
Her look changed. Different from what I see when doing the live caricature sketching.
The brother-in-law. He arranged a bigger table for me, so that I have more space to sketch. Thank you!
The father.
One of their maids.
One of the sisters' kids.
Another sister's kids.
Another sister's kids.
One of their maids.
Whole family (except the mother who didn't have her name written down on the queue list)drawn (really Family Day! Haha....), except the first and fourth guests, who don't belong to this family.
A snapshot by one of the guests. Wrong timing, and caught us unprepared. Thanks anyway.
She told me that I have drawn her and her daughter 2 years ago, but that time the caricatures were done in pencil. So they wanted an ink version. Wah! Returned guests!
I remembered her face. She promised to email me a snapshot of the previous caricatures I have done for them. I may have a copy too. But hidden in one of my folders in my computer. Not published on website on blog yet. You may not get to see it, as I am dead busy recently.

She lets the previous couple to go first, wanted to be the last one, so that she can have her caricatures done with her friends. But told her before I started sketching that couple, that I won't have enough time. Only enough time to draw her alone. In fact, when I have finished sketching that couple, time is up. But I still sketch for her, since I have given her my promise.
One incident came up during this event.
A lady had her name written down on the queue list. But when it was her turn, she wanted to have her son drawn with her together. Told her that one name one person, or else it won't be fair to those people queueing behind her. She said I didn't state it on my queue list, and she showed me her 'black face' (unhappy look). Isn't that common sense? Don't tell me you put down one name for one whole family? Even that whole family sketched also have their individual names written down. What if those guests' names written in front of her wanted to have their family drawn too, but just put down one name. Will she get her chance?
But out of goodwill, I said ok. Guess what? She still showed me her 'black face'. I was quite surprised with myself that I didn't get worked up at that moment. If I remembered correctly, she was one of the few guests (or maybe the only one) who do that to me, throughout my 14 years of live sketching. In the end, she didn't get their caricatures done, as her son keeps moving around, crying and refused to get his caricature drawn. She asked whether I can do a fast one. Told her no, as I need him to be still for about 5 minutes, and it was true. Her son then ran away and sat in his stroller. She went after him. The guests are all waiting for them, and looking for them. They asked me whether I can draw them first. It depends on this mother and son. She turned the stroller around and walked out of the room when I asked her whether she still needs her cariature done. How rude can she be?!
Come to think of it. If she really got her caricature done, I will make her smile non-stop, if not she will get her 'black face' drawn. Hahaha....
What a rude guest!!! I can draw anyone, but at least show some respects and manners for people, and for yourself too. I don't owe you anything. You have your name written down, you will get your caricatures done, within the time I am engaged. No names written means no entitlement.
Be fair to others too. Don't cut queue like that! And I hate people cutting queues, even in our daily life! Only uncivilised people don't queue.

Caricature theme - Man-U fans & Babysitter
Client's brief:-
".....where the theme is concerned..my dad's hobbies is watching manchester united play on tv.my mom's a housewife (cooking and cleaning) and she babysits babies..it's their 30th wedding anniversary...."
I chose the babysitting for the mom.
I think it can create some interaction and conflict with the dad who is watching Man-U soccer on television.
I have her babysitting the hungry and crying baby, and the dad ignoring her. She's so pissed off and knock the sofa his sitting in. To make it more comical, I have the Man-U soccer player seeing this scenario from the tv he's in. Not so sweet as a wedding anniversary gift. Hahaha...... but since the client lets me have a free play on the caricature, I decided to give it a shot.
The blue-striped (textile) cushion is what I like to draw in the last decade. Put it in again after so many years. Nostalgia?! Could be.
Email from the client:-
"Hi Jit,
When my sister brought the caricature home, i was amazed at how
close the resemblance was.
my parents saw the caricature and they were most surprised and pleased
with it. it was a very memorable wedding anniversary for them.
wishing you all the best in your career.
May you continue to produce such magical work.
Reenu"

Caricature theme - Dance to Your Dreams!!!
Client's brief:-
"I would like to order for a caricature in colour marker with theme – with background and body.
Attached is the picture of my friend.
Some characteristic of hers:
She loves dancing – she is backstage dancer for singers
Loves wearing casual and sporty clothes (such as jogging tracks)
....If ok, please add this:
Dance to your dreams"
My initial draft was to have her doing some silly postures behind the singer, and the audience laughing with tears.
Then, I saw the heading in the client's subsequent email - Dance to Your Dreams!
Looks like got to draw her as a professional dancer, instead of a clown.
In order to spice up the drawing, I need to add in some cartoon characters, to get the effect I want to achieve.
My concept for this caricature is - her dance is so good that she snatches the attention away from the singer.
The client's comment is 'very nice!" upon receiving this framed caricature.

The Godfather IV poster
This client used to have drawings done by me in Clarke Quay.
I met him again at Fish & Co few months back.
As usual, I can't remember my clients' faces. Hahaha...
He was the one who asked me whether I am the artist who used to work in Clarke Quay.
I said yes, and passed him my business card.
He made an enquiry via email few weeks later. That was a caricature request, and his colleagues didn't like the idea, and thus dropped the idea.
Now, he came back with another request.
He came out with the following draft, but wanted Al Pacino to be replaced by his bosses' face, complete with the following text.
Can't do this in the caricature form, as he requested it to be done as portrait.
Not logical to write out every words with a black background.
Thus, I proposed to have the portrait drawn out in colour marker (to lower the cost), scan it into softcopy and do the necessary artwork and graphic layout in computer. When this is done, we will print this out as a poster and frame it up. He agreed.
However, the price will be higher, as more work was involved. Hence, he requested to do it with the white background, and black text, to cut down the cost.
But I told him that we won't be able to achieve the sombre feel of The Godfather III poster, when the background is white. Compare the following artwork with the movie poster. It is totally opposite. He thus agreed to stick close to the movie poster.
This is the original handdrawn artwork.
Scanned into softcopy.
I increased the canvas size to easy manoeuvre later for graphic purposes. Added in the shadow on the face (with airbrush in Photoshop), to get close to the feel of the poster. Sprayed in the background colours. Now, we are almost there - this guy is in darkness now.
Cropped it according to the position and proportion as in the movie poster.
Edged out The Godfather logo. Took out the 2 'I"s, added in a 'V'.
Now, you see The Godfather Part IV.
Got the 'Dolby Digital' and 'Paramount' logo on Google Images. Edged out and changed to the colour as in the poster.
Didn't have the exact font as seen in the original text. The closest I can get was Times New Roman, but the proportion was too wide. After typing in, I have to rasterize and change their proportions.
I didn't put in the rest of the names, as they are not cleared, and not quoted in the price too.
Done! Quite a satisfying job.
My frame supplier thought it was a movie poster when I sent to him for framing.
Heehee..... I achieved the effect.
The client said "Amazing!" upon receiving the framed artwork. Now, he understood what I meant when I show him the original portrait and the done-up poster.

Caricature for Procter & Gamble (P&G) International

The client who ordered this caricature, used to commission me for another caricature when I busk in Orchard Road. Now, she works in P&G, and wants to give her colleague/boss(?) a farewell caricature.
He loves soccer. She requests him to be in Holland jersey, since he's from Holland.
Singapore landmarks like Singapore Flyer, Merlion and Esplanade are added in too, since it is a gift from his colleagues from Singapore P&G branch.
Noticed my style changes? I didn't draw a full soccer field. I 'arch' the field, eliminate the edge. Think it looks a lot better and less restrained graphically. Do you think so too?

Caricature for Larsen Oil & Gas
Client's brief:-
"As per our telecon earlier, I attached some pics of my boss, Geir the
Caucasian elderly guy.
It would be on A4 - Caricature in colour marker with theme - with background
& body.
Here's the theme:
He loves fishing, so I guess fishing theme with a big rod and big
smile(DSC00098) of him looking at the mermaid(s) couple of them I suppose on
the rig. The rig should be close to the sea. Don't need to do a big rig,
just a small one will do. Can you add in PetroProd D&P1 on the rig - that's
our project name. "
It will be too tight to put in a few mermaids in this caricature, as I need to take into consideration for the rig structure. I opted for just 1 mermaid, to allow some space for breathing in this A4 caricature. (Usually, I do it on an A3 size paper.) The client agreed.
To make it more comical, I have the mermaid in his arm, with her covering her breasts with both arms, looking shocked, after being hooked out of the deep sea.
Feedback I get from her:-
"Hi Jit
Thanks for the good pic and we are all glad that our boss like the picture.
Keep up the good work!
Best Regards,
Aida Bujang"

Caricature order from Australia

The client resides in Australia.
She places a caricature order for this family, staying in Yishun, Singapore.
Requested me to mail it to them upon completion.
Sent her this softcopy upon completion, before posting it out, as a proof of work done.
You might have noticed - only fountain pen used again.
Any difference?
Feedback from the client:-
"Hey Jit,
That looks fantastic! Thanks for the great work!

Group caricatures for Seagate
This client saw this job for Aberdeen Asset on my blog, and wanted something similar, together with the mousepads. She told me the caricatures are for the seminar, and the mousepad will be given out to her staff.
Put them closer together. It should reflect the integrity of the team better.
Very sketchy pencil sketch?
Yes, trying to sculpture the caricatures out.
Cleaner with the inking done.
Completed with the colours.
This (scanned-in) artwork will be used in the client's Powerpoint presentation.
Didn't put in the Seagate corporate green colour, since the client didn't requested for that.
I used a bright red for the background. It should look bright on mousepads, and more durable against the dirt. Added in their names as per requested. Increased the canvas size, to allow for bleeding, so that my mousepad supplier has the freedom to crop this graphic for mousepad printing.
The mousepads aren't in a hurry. The client told me that she only needs them by month end.
Post up the mousepad photo here when they are done.
Mousepads finally done on 18th June 2008.

Caricature order from Italy
I have to say I really love this caricature, especially the proportion of this Mitsubishi Triton, and the big wheel.
The biggest difference here is that I only use fountain pen for this caricature, instead of the usual G-Pen and brush. The main reason is that I think I can get better linework with my fountain pen here, in terms of the geometry of the car. (Another very minor reason is I am quite pissed off with another 'copy cat'. When I mentioned in my blog, that I use G-pen for my caricatures, he started using it too. Welles tells me that maybe I should mention that I use G-string. Hahaha..... See how he figures out to use it for drawing. Just kidding.)
Back to this drawing, I pay extra attention to the details tyre track. I want to make it look 3-dimensional. Took longer than usual for this job, as I fall in love with car caricatures recently.
Anyway, the result is satisfying.
The client is residing in Ancona, near Rimini in Italy.
Quite near to Pietra Ligure (a very nice place) which I went last June.
He didn't request for the original artwork to be shipped to him, just need the high resolution scanned-in softcopy to be uploaded to my server for him to download.
Feedback from him:-
"GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
very nice pictures
thank you very much"

Caricature theme - jogging @ East Coast Park
These orders were placed together with the previous caricatures, just that this 2 orders were not urgent.
This one for her own keepsake.
See the difference in pencil and colour.
This one for her boyfriend. She requested a jogging theme at East Coast Park.
Significant features of the park is the pavillion, the barbeque pit, and the green trash bin, along the beach.
I like to put in cartoon snail or tortoise in my caricatures 10 over years ago, when I just started drawing caricatures. After so many years, I put them in again. No specific reason. Just to add some touch to the drawing.
Feedback I get from the client:-
"Dearest Jit,
I have received the caricature - East Coast theme! Wowwwwwwwwww!!! I love it soooo much! Thanks so much! I love it the moment it caught my eyes! Im sure my boyfriend will love the drawing! Thanks so much Jit for your effort.
By the way Jit, you happened to draw one very important item in my picture -- which is the shelter hut along East Coast Running Track. Haha, by coincidence, my bf and I got together at one of the hut there 2 years ago. Wow, when I saw the hut - the drawing, I thought it adds on MORE meanings to the drawing! Lovely!
Appreciate it! Thanks once again!
With lots of thanks,
Genevie"
Such clients are lovely. Not because of the compliments, but the feedback they gave. At least, I know how they feel about my work, from their feedback.

Caricature theme - Liverpool soccer player

The client gave me a few theme. Chose a soccer theme for him.
"I am fine with a soccer theme, though preferably in Red jersey because my friend is a Liverpool fan. "
Besides presenting this as birthday gift, his main aim for this caricature is to cheer her up, as she is rather down lately.

Looking for me?
Received 2 enquiries today, and happened that they are looking for me, but don't know that I am the artist who used to do the caricatures for them.
Enquiry 1:-
This guy attached the above file in his email.
"Hi Jit Leong,
Came across your website whilst googling for it, and I love your works!
I actually looking for a caricature artist to replicate the picture as attached for your reference. In addition, I also need to add in a few missing persons who are omitted from this picture......."
"Thanks for your prompt reply.
I've attached a copy of the past caricature that we've used, and do you have any idea how much it will cost for this?"
"Thanks for your email.....
......Well, I was trying hard to locate the artiste who drew that, and whilst googling for caricature artistes I came upon you.
I must say that I really love that piece of work, it was great!
However, I guess I need to give the chance to work with you a miss then, as I need the picture to be ready for a event on the 29th.
Nonetheless, thanks for your prompt reply, and I do look forward to working with you again."
"I'm afraid I need the picture to be in by the 26th May, because we will be printing cards as well, and need to cater in extra time for printing and production.
We are looking at around 40 odd people around a Coca-Cola banner....."
Didn't get the job, but glad that he loves this artwork. It is my record too, with the highest number of people (87) done in 1 drawing, and every caricature is very small in size. (second is job for Phillip Morris)
Thought I have put in my website url clear enough in that drawing? Seems like it is too small to be seen. Some clients asked me not to put in the url in my drawings. Some clients told me that they are glad to be able to find me again for more drawings, thanks to the url. I like the latter, as that's my purpose (and quality-guaranteed) for including in all my drawings.
Enquiry 2:-
A Citibank client requested a Citibank staff to look for a caricaturist to do a job. He said that he has his wedding caricatures done by an artist in Clarke Quay, who has a booth there. Told that staff that I am the artist. Gave her the link on my website as the proof.
Seems like my 8.5 years of hardwork in Clarke Quay wasn't down in the drain. Just a pity that I didn't do enough publicity of my company "Portrait Workshop' at my pushcart. They know that there is a portrait and caricature artist stationed in Clarke Quay, but can't remember my name or my company name. Didn't realise the importance of marketing in those early years till 2 years ago, when I get to know an artist online. He taught me the importance of marketing, beside having a good drawing skill and producing good artworks.

Wedding @ Chicago
Getting quite a number of oversea orders lately.
This is an order from Chicago, USA.
"Hi Jit - We would like to have you do a caricature for us that we would like to use for our wedding invitation. I've attached three pictures of us. Hopefully the quality on these images are good enough for you to do the drawing from.
We want our caricature to be similar in style to this one:
http://www.caricature.com.sg/2006/12/caricature-theme-wedding-in-sentosa.html
Since we are using it for a wedding invitation card, we would like you to draw it in a similar fashion as that caricature with the following ideas:
- Please do not exaggerate or enlarge our smiles/mouths too much
- Please no crooked smiles
- Please have the groom in a tuxedo with a black bowtie (not the long tie) and the bride in a white wedding gown holding a red flower bouquet
- Please have the groom carrying the bride (like in the caricature above)
- Please have the Chicago skyline as the background of our caricature (emphasize Sears Tower and other Chicago landmarks - as in this picture http://www.richard-seaman.com/USA/Cities/Chicago/Landmarks/ChicagoSkyline1.jpg)
- Please have the groom on the left side of the picture and the bride on the right side (like in the caricature above)
- Please do the drawing in landscape format (width of picture is greater than height)
- Since we are using this for our invitation, could you please make the edges of the caricature end nicely (as in the caricature above) with no straight edges so we can manuever the graphic on our wedding card for a better layout.
In addition to the actual physical drawing, we would like you to do a high-resolution scan so we can access the caricature via Internet and download it.
How long do you think it will take you to finish our caricature so we can download it? We are excited to see how it will turn out. We do not need express, just normal timing and shipping for the actual caricature.
Please send us a quote and we will send you the payment via Paypal asap.
Thanks!
--Phuc and Sherry "
Seems like there's still market for pretty caricatures oversea.
They don't want to look awful and exaggerated in the caricatures, and in their wedding invitation card.
In fact, I am very tempted to draw his crooked smile when I saw his photo. Hahaha....... but as a professional artist, I should draw what the client requested.
As soon as I get the caricatures done, I scan it at high resolution and uploaded to my server for them to download. These files are just too huge to be sent via email. The original artwork is then posted out to them via registered and normal shipping mail.
Feedback from the client upon seeing the downloaded artwork:-
"Jit - The caricature looks great."
Yes!!! Hit rate getting higher and higher. I need to keep it up.
