My client requested for 3 caricaturists to do a 3-hours gig each for his show at Ricoh Showroom, from 11am to 4pm.
I got Kamal and Reggie to partner me for this event.
My part started from 11am - 2pm, Kamal came in at 12pm (to 3pm), and Reggie started from 1pm - 4pm.
Since I was the first caricaturist, the guests and staffs were very excited, crowded around me to get their caricatures done.
I was given a smaller paper size (B5) prepared by the client. (Usually I draw on A4 size paper.)
Few days before the event, the client told me that the paper given was not totally matt. It has a thin coat on the paper.
Just in case my usual ink and brush don't stay on the paper, I have prepared myself with the Copic second generation black brush marker. It dried instantly, and I drew slightly faster because of this, and without dipping for ink from the bottle. The brush strokes were more controlled, but lack the brushy dry strokes of the normal brush I used.
A fun lady to sketch, and to chat with!
Does she look like the little actress from Mediacorp? I think so!
My part ended at 2pm. Reggie and Kamal still working hard on their sketches for the guests.
The caricatures framed up by the client.
Ah ha! This one was drawn a bit oversized!
