Client's brief:-
"Dear Jit,
i am a graphic designer based in germany, and i am currently working for
DHL Express in germany. We have an urgent project, a flea market, where
John Pearson is selling merchandise for a good cause. My work is to make
a logo for his stand.
While searching google for pictures of John Pearson, i found your great
caricature of him, that you made in 2010. My question, can we use your
illustration for this project, and if yes, could you send me a highres
picture of it? Would be great to have it today or tomorrow, because the
event happens next week.

Caricature theme - Man U fans @ Old Trafford Stadium

"....He is a hugeee Man U fan so i'm hoping to get a caricature of him done with Old Trafford stadium at the background and him wearing the latest Man U Away jersey as shown in the other attached picture.
It's for a birthday gift. His birthday is on 2nd Sep so I'm hoping you can either squeeze a 'Happy birthday' or at least his bday date somewhere on the caricature...."

Caricature live sketching for Jonah's birthday party

A gig for Jonah's birthday party. Initial booking was from 4pm to 6pm, but was extended to 8pm, due to overwhelming response from the guests.










The caricature templates which I prepared beforehand, for individual caricature, as well as for family/group caricatures.

Caricature theme - wedding @ Merlion

Client's brief:-
"Dear Jit Leong,
I would like to enquire on the cost of making a rubber stamp with both my fiance and my picture in caricature form. How long will it take for the stamp to be ready?....
As it is for my wedding, thus I will want the picture to be myself in a white wedding gown and my hubby in a tuxedo suit. The background of us will be at the Merlion as it is where we met. As both of us are photography enthusiasts so I am wondering if you can include that factor in, perhaps have a camera (Nikon) as an accessory....."

"Dear Jit,
Good day!
I required your service again.
Will you be able to help me with a color portrait of my friend in a car racing suit (redbull if possible) and holding on a to helmet?
And with his car (see attachment) as the background?"

Couple caricatures fishing at beach

Client's brief:-
"I need a caricature by 6 today but not sure if you could do it? How much would it cost for one color caricature of this.... The guy who caught a fish and happy with a beach background and the lady with the hat but with a black top with pink short beside him doing that face and put her hand on her waist ...is it possible to be done?..."


You can see how rush this order was. From enquiry, sending photos, confirmation of order with deposit, drawing till collection, all done is less than 9 hours! On top of that, I have jobs on hand to be completed....

Caricature theme - Wedding at Garden

An order from Australia.
Client's brief:-
".....I am looking at having a Colour A3 Caricature with the theme of "Wedding" done for my 1st wedding anniversary as a VERY belated anniversary present. We were married on 8th Aug, 2008 (08/08/08). I would like to have a garden background as we were married in my in-laws front garden.
I would like to have the Double Happiness Symbol incorporated in the drawing somewhere (maybe on Chinese lanterns) in another picture that I have attached.
"Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary" 08/08/09 also incorporated
I would be in a black suit with white shirt & red tie as pictured, but with my jacket closed
I would like my wife to be drawn with a Frangipani in her hair like she is pictured in the attached photo of her & I have attached another photo of the dress which is cream/Ivory in colour....."


Yes, you read it correctly. The client attached the first email he sent me 2 years ago, but he was a little slack, and only confirmed his order today.:D

digital caricature live sketching on HTC Flyer for HTC Weekend - Day 2

Day 2, same venue and timing (12pm - 2pm & 5pm - 7pm).

I started to get a better hang of sketching on this HTC Flyer now. My lines are more free and loose now.:)




This is a fun one!


I like this too, especially the marker strokes on his goatie and shirt. There's so much feeling looking at them!


The event organiser who engaged my service. He has a pencil version yesterday, and felt that the pen and marker version looked better. And thus his second attempt.

One of my favourite digital caricature done today.



I began to love these lines. Didn't expect I can draw such style within the limitations initially. I think I just need to more time explore and experiment with the style for different gadgets. It's exciting to see a new drawing style created within limitations.
