digital caricatures for Singapore Air Force
Client's brief:-
"Hi Mr Jit, My colleague had previously ordered caricature from you for our Air Force Farewell personnel , your caricature was really well done, we really love it! Therefore we are back to order another 2 more caricature (Caricature in colour marker with theme - with background & body) from you. I would like these 2 pieces to be the same background and theme as you have done previously for the 5 caricature, just the person's face and rank would be different this time(follow attachment) . digital caricature of a meditating Indian man
A very long and detailed brief:-
"...1. Caricature Details for my Dad's 75th Birthday.
a. A3 size
b. Dad likes to meditate - so I have provided the pose that he always uses
c. I have provided pictures of my Dad, they are not very sharp and are of low resolution as I had to crop them from group pictures.
d. What the artist needs to remember is that he has to wear a white full sleeve shirt and the white Dhoti (white sarong) with the golden border ( in the pictures please ignore the bags and the lanyard + camera etc - please do NOT include those). Also to remember - there should be 3 thick white lines on his forehead ( each white line should be proportionately as thick as his index finger, with the red big dot in the center of the bottom white line (this is the religious white ash and red kumkum). This dot should be proportionately as big as the tip of his middle finger.
e. He loves his cars - so I have provided them - his first car is the pic called old car, I do not remember the car number, second one was the white herald and its number was MEV 713, His next car was the Fiat - please use a brown color that is shown in the car seat picture - he had a brown fiat and the number was MET 3737. His current car is the Maruthi white colour - I do not know the Car Number.
f. His profession - he is an engineer and throughout his career he worked on building Radars for the Indian Space Research Organization ( ISRO) - for launch of their rockets - this was his passion and even today he talks proudly of this. So I have pictures of Radars and a picture of a rocker launch from ISRO.
g. He worked his entire career in one company called Bharat Electronics Limited - I have provided you with the logo of this company.
h. I have also provided the Calendar for the month of Oct 18th 1938 ( my dad's birthday), it was a Tuesday that he was born.
I. Will be great if you can have a Birthday wish as a title on the A3 paper - saying "Happy 75th Birthday"....."
The client wanted many items and in A3 size.
I proposed to draw it digitally to get the details out.
The sketch alone takes a lot longer than usual.
Inking not any easier.
I don't have a close skin colour for him if I use my colour markers.
No such issue when I paint digitally as I have millions of colours I can choose from.
I added more details to the face, especially his complexion.
Not possible if I do it with colour markers.
Looks like this is the way to go for the future caricature drawing?!
The painting takes the longest, but the outcome is satisfying!

digital caricature on Porsche for Swisshotel
Client's brief:-
"I would like to order a caricature for our President of Swissotel Hotels & Resorts who will be leaving the Company. The idea is to have him sitting inside a Porsche with our hotel building as the background.....The number plate: “SMC-MH 0401”...."

Guess which is the toughest to draw in this caricature?:D

'This time is my bf birthday so I am attaching a few pictures which you can see more clearly our faces. the birthday picture is my birthday place but i would like to have our face (the one we are smiling with only our head) and smaller body in front of the birthday cake (bday pic) with a BIG cake wordings as

Superwoman caricature as housewife and mom
Client's brief:-
"On the 0842 photo is the look which i want for her face; photo 7 shows her body structure very well - she is very feminine and has voluptuous forms which has to be in the caricature as well; in the photo 8 you can see her playful and cheerful character.
So face we take from the 0842 picture, hairstyle as well. For the body I want her to have the Superwoman costume and of course with all the voluptuous forms. The background it should be something like all the house chores since she is a housewife and a mother of two kids. So the meaning is that she is like a Superwoman manages to do everything perfectly because thats how it is in real life :) Style maybe a bit like comics, and her coat and hair fluttering because of the wind!......
And if possible add several of these comics exclamation boxes like "delicious", "perfect", "beautiful", "amazing", "yum", "kabam" etc. And like kind of a main tittle on top " SUPERWOMAN""

digital runner caricature for Apple
Client's brief:-
"Hi Jit,
My work colleague referred me to you. We work for the Apple Enterprise team representing south asia and are looking to give our boss a going away present. He is moving back to Sydney Australia next week.
The idea we have is that he would be running (he does Iron Man triathalons) past our team. We would be in the crowd but in front of buildings that represent our countries. ie The Merlion,MBS, Flyer of Singapore, Petronas Towers of Malaysia, etc..

Thailand - Thai Royal Palace.
Malaysia - Petronas Towers
Philippines - A jeepney with random people hanging off and cheering....
Also my boss coined the phrase when he runs "Eat the Pain". Maybe incorporate that in a thought bubble? The face we would like for him would be his running face. He is a drooling mess and we all laugh at him when we see pictures of him at his race. I think will be funny...."

Inking in Sketchbook Pro too.

digital group caricatures for National Library Board, Singapore (NLB)
Client's brief:-
"....Our priority is quality of artwork and authenticity rather than cost....."
Did the following rough sketches while I was out, in a food court to save some time.
Love this Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. I am not bounded to desk, working on my Wacom Cintiq.
Transferred the sketches to my Wacom Cintiq 24HD and started inking and rendering.....
Next is to get this NLB building done up and piece the 6 subjects together.
Added in the caption - "2nd International Summit of the Book" and NLB logo, with each piece highlighting one subject by increasing the size. This is why drawing this digitally is teh way to go to cut cost. Imagine doing this traditionally on paper, I have to draw 30 faces and NLB building 6 times!
Last 2 individual caricatures with NLB building in the background, and I am done with this job!
