This client saw my work:-
http://www.caricature.com.sg/2008/10/caricature-montage.html
and wanted a similar one for her brother-in-law.
(Didn't realise that I have done so many caricature montages until I search through my blog)
The brief:-
"4 scenarios:
drinking a pine of gusiness
golfing
playing tennis
arsenal fans
suggests to write '50' somewhere but again i leave it to your expertise."
Photos provided are not ideal, but thank goodness that the subject has some distinctive features, which made my job easier.

Couple portraits in pencil
Saturday, August 29, 2009
An illustration sold online.
This client saw this illustration which I have illustrated for Smartrade last year, wanted to purchase it for their publication use. I got the permission from Robin and sold it to them, but restricted to their use on http:/austincoins.com only.
His brief:-
"I would like to buy the limited rights to use this artwork in a printed and online publication that goes to our client list.
We need this with no changes except removal of url....
I want to use it on a web page
Http:/austincoins.com/gold_news.htm
And in print media to a house list under 10,000.
I was hoping to start a relationship this way and have you produce a custom piece for us each month.
We would like to see any existing artwork you have on the economy so you could make a few dollars with the least amount of work.
What country are you in? We are in Austin, Tx USA."
Another similar request from the same company:-
"I would like to purchase the roller coaster graphic. I would like one with out your logo in it and I need you to give me instructions on where to get the image from.
I would like the largest size available.
please tell me how much and how to send it to you using paypal."

Caricature live sketching for SMC Teachers Day Dinner 2009
An one-hour event at Pan Pacific Hotel, Grand Ballroom.
It was a Teachers' Day Dinner for Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) and Chung Cheng High School (Main and Yishun branches).
It got me quite excited for awhile.
Though I can see my ex-teachers like the event I did for NYJC few years back.
To my disappointment, I didn't even one of them.
Either I am too engrossed with the sketching, or they have retired, or didn't attend this dinner.
If I am correct, these guests (sketched by me) are from Chung Cheng High School, as they are one gang, and know one another.
Kick start with this lady.
A good one, I think.
She has the unique features for me to caricature.
This lady cannot hold her smile for 5 seconds. Headache....:)
She looks like a doll to me. Thus, it is not hard to capture her essence.
This one, I draw mainly based on my impression, rather than looking at her features closely.
This teacher from Chung Cheng High Scool, invited me to their school to teach.
Hahaha... unfortunately, I have no passion for teaching art, and cannot afford the time too.
Thanks anyway.
(He told me he has a friend, Mr Tam, teaching in NYJC. Oh! Mr Tam, but not my teacher:))
Job done!
One of the ladies (sketched by me) collected them, claiming that she knows all of them. She can pass the drawings to them.
That's how I came to the conclusion that they are not from NYJC.:))

Caricature theme - Man with VLCC
Client's brief:-
"...The person in subject is a tall & lanky bespectacled (specs’ colour to revert) guy. I would like the background to show a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) in red & yellow – vessel’s name will be SAM KOH. The vsl is to berth against a terminal with its shore tanks visible.
The person will be in a sharp & sleek grey suit, white shirt (?), blue tie, black shiny leather shoes (?), and in his shirt/blazer pocket, a mont blanc pen with a blue gem stone (will try to obtain a pic of it). Are the colour coordination ok?
Pls also put in cuff links & tie pin if it will be shown. He is to carry a smug posture (but pleasant facial expression) if you’re able to capture that...."
When I saw the brief, first thing that strikes me is that the blue gem on the Mont Blanc pen will not be able to see clearly. I highlighted this to the client.
True enough, It turned out as expected. I can only outline the pen to make it more visible.
Thank you, Wai Pheng (the client).
She bought me 2 boxes of little snacks with chocolate mousse within (upon her collection of the caricature). I don't know what you call them though.:) My kids love it!

Caricatures for IHG
Client's brief:-
"Hi Jit, with reference to our tele-conversation, I will require A4 sized caricatures in ink with theme for 3 persons, Greg, Karen and Natalie. I will need to collect the caricatures on 27th Aug Thurs evening around 7pm.
I have attached a few of their photos and their hobbies are as follows:-
Greg – Tennis
Natalie – Diving
Karen – Baking "
This gentleman has an unique feature:- long eye lashes, besides his point bald head.
Her features just looked comical to me. It's a breeze drawing her caricature.
After I drew in the diver's suit, without the colours, the figure doesn't standout.
Hence, I have to add in finer lines, of different directions to make each parts more distinctive.
Client's response:-
"Good!"

Caricature theme - graduation next to Ferrari Enzo
Client's brief:-
"Hi Mr Jit,
I am very impressed with your works especially your caricatures and so,
I want one for my boyfriend who's graduating end of August.
It shall be in colour and theme and frame up.
Is it possible for me to come and pick it up on 24th August 09?
Details which might be useful to u and what i want to be included are :
1. My boyfriend, draw him with his happy cheeky face preferably (refer pic BF1), 1 eye small 1 eye big(bigger than in BF1),
you can choose to keep e tongue in or out,ur choice to suit the drawing, wearing a white shirt and grey tie
underneath the graduation gown.
2. His graduation gown(refer pic no1) with the mortar board of course. I dont have a picture of someone wearing it tho,
mayb you can help. :)
3. He loves photography n travel, thus i want to have him holding his camera Canon EOS 1000D(refer BF2,BF4 or BF5)
in one hand, and the other hand holding the graduation scroll up(like one of ur graduation drawing).
-Note the way he holds the strap around his hand (refer BF3 or BF4)
-Please draw him holding this camera Canon EOS 5D (refer No2) instead coz its his dream camera.
-btw, am i right to say both camera will look the same in the drawing? if yes, then just draw the camera he holding coz i think the
'EOS5D' name cant be seen in the drawing.
4. Draw a lime green Ferrari Enzo (refer no4) in any angle u think will look good in this drawing, it must be lime green.
The Ferrari Enzo car plate will bear his name @y!3 (if possible) & with the Ferrari logo.
5. Background, i m not too sure as I think the drawing will be full of details already. If you feel it will be better
with a background then you can add big fluffy clouds? or a building to represent him in civil engineering(not a must tho)?
-No additional colours for the background, plain white will be good.
-If it is possible, please draw a sunflower visible somewhere, not too small and not too big.If not then its ok.
I prefer the drawing not to be so polluted with details if possible... but if details make it nicer, then by all means...."
The challenge here is the subject's expression.
He is in the shade in the photo provided.
The more challenging part is his expression - cheeky, but not that cheeky enough (to me).
Thus, when I inked in the face, it doesn't really give me the resemblance.
At that stage, I think I need to use the colours to bring out his facial muscles.
True enough, I got it when I rendered it.:)
Feedback via email from the client:-
"Hey Jit,
Great Job done!
Thank u so so much for the caricature...
My bf like it so much...
& eVeryone agrees that it looks so like him, even my 1yr old nephew recognized him thru e caricature...
Thanks again..."

Caricatures for GC Asia Dental
Client's brief:-
"Dear Jit Leong,
Good day. My company will like to engage your service in helping us to create 6 caricatures (5 individuals, 1 group) for our speakers whom we have invited for an upcoming event in September.
Individual caricatures
We are planning to do all the caricatures in marker (theme). For the individual guest’s artwork, we like to feature them with Singapore as the background/theme (merlion/esplanade/suntec, etc...) with incorporation of the following text in all the 5 individual caricatures to show our appreciation to their help.
Text: Many thanks for speaking during the GC MI Symposium, FDI Singapore 2009"
Since there are 5 caricatures in all, similar theme, I played around with the different postyres, based on theinspiration I get from their features and expressions.
Another one is the variation of the Merlion.
I tried to give the Merlions different designs and expressions.
A snapshot of the caricatues in frames.
Client's feedback:-
"Hi Jit
Appreciate your help in the caricatures drawing, the recipients really like them....
cheers
Rene"

Caricatures for Weber Shandwick
Client's brief:-
"Hi Jit,
We will like to have a caricature done up for our boss’ farewell gift. There will be 7 people in total. The design will probably be like our boss in the middle flanked by the other 6, in a landscape format.
..... we are thinking of something similar to the “Babes in Ashurst” design."

Caricature theme - wedding @ pavilion
Client's brief:-
"Hi Jit
We would like you to help us draw a caricature of A3 in size for my ROM signage board cum invitation cards
I have attached several pictures for your drawing:
The first 3 attachment are our picture together and inidividual pictures(close up) The 4th, 5th & 6th attachment are pictures of the pavilion as the background The 7th attachment is the picture of my toys (Cow & Dog) The Last attachment is the Font we wanted for the wordings
Description:
- Bride in white wedding gown and Groom in Black suit
- Bride one hand holding a bouquet of roses (white, pink and lavender colour), another hand locking Groom arms
Background
- as per the attached pictures
- please draw without the table and chairs (just the Pavilion) as the Pavilion is where we are holding our Solemnisation
- Colour theme will be White, Pink and Lavender
- Draw lot of flowers decoration in the Pavilion with the colour theme
- A wooden signage board hang at the top of the Pavilion with the word:
In Matrimony
- Bottom of the drawing : add in 2 Wooden Signage stands (at the grass patch) with the words:
1) Xingyuan & Peiyi
2) 3rd Jan 2010
- Besides the signage stand - draw in a small Cow & a Dog (as attached) in black tuxedos"
Have to make adjustment to the position of the signage board on top of the pavilion.
Ideally, it should be at the centre top, but was blocked by the couple.
And yet I don't want the pavilion to be so big and overwhelming, such that it is covering the couple, visually.
Now, it looked a bit lopsided but balanced by the signage, cartoon cow and dog at the bottom left. The focus is now on the couple.

Caricatures for RBS Coutts
Client's brief:-
"Hi Jit,
As spoken, I would like to place order for a caricature for my boss (as farewell gift).. both he & his wife (swiss) love eating durian..
so perhaps you can draw both of them eating during with some "famous"
names of durians at the background.....please include the following durian names on to the caricature :
D24, XO, Butter, Golden Phoenix, Mao Shan Wang....
You can draw them both eating durian at a durain stall, with durian seller on the background....."
A returned client.
She requested me to draw them as real as possible.
Not many Caucasians can take the smell of durians.
Think they may have adapted themselves quite well in Singapore.:)

Caricature live sketching for Standard Chartered Bank
This event was supposed to be an 1 hour event (6:45pm - 7:45pm) at The Legends, Fort Canning Hill, for Standard Charterd Bank Singapore KL Games, but was extended by another 1.5 hours (till 9:15pm) by the client, due to overwhelming response.
Kicked start with him.
Quite sometime since I last sketched live for events.
Rather good warm up.
The event company/client requested for some sports theme to be included in the sketch for the guests.
Squash theme for him.
Badminton theme, as per requested too.
No favourite sports for her.
Last 2 for the 1 hour event.
To sketch 1 more person, I will have to take out the sport theme.
Supposed to be the last one (surprisingly, I am faster in this event, sketching 10 guests in an hour), the client told me to finish those on the queue list. 25 pax in all!
Got to postpone my pre-arranged dinner appointment then.
All smiling happily, as they got the chance to get their own caricatures, because of the time extension.
She requested a badminton-theme caricature. Her favourite!.
Really need to smile big, to look good in the caricature.
Quite a close one, I think.
This one even closer.
This one was easy, like a breeze.
Squeeze in one more. Ended at 9:20pm.
