I was requested by my friend Ivan to do up a dragon illustration for booths in Singapore Zoo for the Chinese New Year festival.
I did the inking on an A2 size marker paper, as I need to blow it up to about 6 feet wide for printing and sticking on the booths.
I scanned it into digital copy and started editing it. Timeframe given was too short for me to draw everything digitally.
Adding in colours to the lines - dragon and clouds.
Added in the background colours and decorative motifs.
This illustration will be flipped for the other side of the booth.
An hour gig (6:30-7:30pm) at Grand Hyatt Hotel.
The client requested for their corporate logo to be hand-drawn on every caricature, instead of usual printed on the paper beforehand. They wanted to have the artistic touch to it, and understood that this will reduce the number of caricatures done in that hour.
Photos of me in action, taken by my friend, Lee Lee, who was engaged together with her hsband, Ivan, by the event organiser to do airbrush on mini T-shirt for the same gig.
Some videos taken during this gig too.
My favourite caricature done for this gig, in terms of likeness and exaggeration.:)
A 2 days - 6 hours (11am - 5pm each day) gig at Sime Darby Select (Performance Premium Selection) new showroom at 305, Alexandra Road. Another Open House event I did for them since last July in Kampung Arang.:)
My workplace for these 2 days.
The event organiser - Events Architects prepared this signage for me.:)
Let's start the ball rolling! Ivan paid me a visit and snapped some photos of me in action.:)
Another video by Ivan using my iPhone 4!
Family caricatures!
We have some familiar faces seen in last year's Open House.
Interesting to see whether my sketching technique changes over a year too.
He said I have drawn him too old (because of those lines on his face)..... is it?:D
