An hour gig (6:30pm - 7:30pm).
Venue : NTU Alumni Club – Yunan Restaurant Ballroom
Theme : Halloween
I saw a Chinese "vampire"here. Really hilarious...lol!
Too bad that I didn't manage to take a photo of him.
This guy is easy to caricature.
I have a good warm-up this evening, with these easy and unique faces .
This lady is a challenging one. She requested for her 'normal' look.
Do I have X-Ray eyes? Lol....
This lady was one of my students (arha! Another one!) in one of the Caricature Workshop for AIA. She showed me her Lydia Shum caricature (stored in her iPhone) she has drawn during the workshop.
And this evening was a record for me... 13 caricatures drawn in an hour!

Caricature theme - Happy Birthday
Client's brief:-
"Theme : As a birthday card theme (similar to yr wedding card, except it's as a birthday card....I would like it as a card
something like http://www.caricature.com.sg/2007/06/wedding-invitation-card.html
but NOT as a wedding card, but birthday card theme
with the words "Hey Junie, Blessed Birthday", inside is blank.....also, in the picture can you include junie holding a stalk of sunflower"
I don't do printing on card.
I get this caricature scanned into softcopy.
The client printed it out in a smaller version for the birthday card.
His feedback:-
"Ar... great!"

A sketch of a caricaturist friend on Facebook - William Fiesterman.
I have downloaded his photos in my harddisk for many months, and can't find the time to do it.
Perhaps, this is the right time....:D

Caricature for Singapore Armed Forces (SAF)
Schoolism Assignment 8 - Illustration Part 2
Citizen sketches - Joel....
and Dan.
Another part of the assignment - celebrity caricature with full body posture.
I discarded the Lady Gaga caricature (not knowing that this subject will be used for the last 3 assignments of this course initially), and worked on this Bruce Lee caricature.
Anyway, I don't have much more to work on the former too.
It was a lot more fun here. This expression was challenging. It doesn't have the usual look (the features, especially his eyes) of Bruce Lee. You can tell from the sketch above. It doesn't really showed his likeness, until I painted in the details.
This is still work-in-progress, waiting for Jason's critique, before I work on it further.
Will update this in a later post.:)

The face - the most important part. It has to be done properly, no matter what....
Completed it within schedule....Phew.
A video of the drawing process.
Client's response, upon receiving this framed artwork:-
"Oh, cool!"

Couple caricatures Wedding @ Goodwood Park Hotel and caricatures for parents
Client's brief:-
"Hi Jit,
My fiancee,Valerie, and I love your caricatures, and would love to get ours, along with both our parents' done for our wedding on 20 November 2010!
Our plan is to have one for each of our parents (i.e., 4 individual caricatures) and another for ourselves (i.e. a couple caricature). Our requirement is as follow -
4 individual caricatures (his dad, his mum, her dad, her mum)....
1 couple caricature (us in one caricature)
"Descriptions of caricature themes:
"Benjamin & Valerie
- Theme: Bride in off-shoulder wedding gown, Groom in Suit.Backdrop featuring Goodwood Park Hotel. Day-time look.
- Preferably less stiff looking caricatures of us, more "interactive" type of emotions/look between us."
His Dad
- Theme: Dad as a Chef.
- Possibly holding a frying pan/ spatula on one hand, and another hand holding his Sony Ericsson Hazel mobile phone; because he will always text us the menu for the day"
"His Mother
- Theme: Mom is one who's generous and always giving, has a very big heart
- Possibly with a big handbag that's opened (she loves her bags!), and from within she reaches into the bag and dishes out hearts with both hands"
"Her Daddy
- Theme: Daddy as a Handyman/Mr Fix-it.
- Possibly holding a toolbox, or working on something in the house; because Daddy's able to do anything and everything, from fixing electrical stuffs, to gardening, to sewing, to plumbing, to cooking etc etc."
"Her Mummy
- Theme: Mummy as a Perfect Homemaker, keeping all things in order in the house
- Possibly cooking, keeping the home in pristine order. Aligning bed linen to hotel standards, packing books, clothes etc away neatly and in order."
Upon their collection, I heard what the bride-to-be told her fiancé:-
"My mum looks like my mum... Your dad looks like your dad! .....My dad looks like my dad...... So cute! So beautiful!"
They dropped me an email for another 2 orders, with a feedback:-
"Hi Jit,
Thanks for the caricatures of our parents and also of us, it's really well drawn! We love your interpretation, looking at the caricatures makes us smile :)...."
They made my day.:)

Caricature live sketching for Great Eastern D&D
An hour and a half (5:30pm - 7pm) gig at Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The client requested for 2 caricaturists.
I got Reggie to partner me for this gig.
Met my friends, Ivan and Lee (too shy to appear in this photo) doing wired art in this gig too.
Check out their blog. Ivan is a talented guy, who does painting, airbrush tattoo etc!
Arha... this nail-painting artist is one of my students - Krist. She told me that she attended my Caricature Workshop for AIA at Alexandra branch.
The guests started to flow in. Time to kick start.
This is a cute one!
Lee caught me and Reggie in action.....
I like these 2 caricatures especially.
