A 50th-birthday gift to the boss, who will be leaving for England to celebrate his birthday. His colleagues wanted him to remeber it was a gift from Singapore. They wanted the landmarks like Esplanade and Merlion. This time, I put him on top of his company - HSBC building, seated cross-legged, holding a birthday cake. The background was the fireworks, showing the '50'. The effect was not as good as using airbrush to get the fireworks effect. But this wasn't within this category. Thus I used colourpencil over the dark blue background.
I used an aerial/bird's eye view to capture all these in. Looked dynamic too, at least not so boring - usual case for birthday theme.
