A wet Christmas eve.
After my client's collection of her son's caricature at my place at 1pm, I have a lunch gathering with my Archi friends - Wern Iu and Meng Yi (who just came back from Sydney few weeks ago) at Ichi Ban Sushi in AMK Hub.
It was a pity that this gathering was so short (of less than 1 hour. We have so much to chat about) as I have to sketch for this one hour event at 3:30pm.
All the way to Pasir Ris, even further in after I have reached DownTown East, and finally I found the venue - Aloha Resort, after a few turns here and there.
A list of entertainment for the residents at the resort.
This event was a pretty last minute notice. I got the confirmation call from the evnt organiser about 2-3 days ago. This could be one of the 'lobangs' from my caricaturist friend Welles (could be busy with another event on his side), as he called me, saying that the event organiser didn't get a confirmation of my commitment for this event. Anyway, I did reply the latter's SMS. Likely that he need a double confirmation.
Back to the event.
Kick start with the management staff, since the residents were not here yet, due to the wet weather.
Still sketching in pencil, as I forgot to bring my sample caricatures in ink.
I think it was not bad too. It has the organic touch using the traditional medium - pencil.
Can add in some shading on the face with fingers. Just a bit messy on the hair, as compared doing it in pen (ink).
Finished off this session with this sporty lady who can hold her smile through the sketching process. I think she realised that I can get her resemblance better if she can hold her smile.:)))
