This is one of the jobs has kept me busy for days, which is why I didn't blog for sometime, or make all my posts delayed.
These caricatures are gifts for the speakers for the event of "Web in Travel 2008".
They came from different parts of the world.
The client ordered caricatures with theme initially.
After giving me some specific themes for certain speakers, they decided to keep it simple.
Just a full body caricature for everyone of them.
This sounds to be an easier job for me.
But with nothing specific, I try to refrain myself from having the same or repeated posture for each of them.
However, this is inevitable when you have 59 caricatures.
(Quite a record for me. My highest record is 110+ caricatures, as door gifts for Sony D&D)
I don't have so many different postures on hand.
These caricatures are not posted in sequence, according to date of completion.
I have lost count.
To standardise the logos to be included, I have them printed on the drawing papers, before I started drawing them.
I think this is cool.
Looked too empty without the eyes shown.
Hence, I added in partial eyes
.
I like to draw his features.
When you have unique features, capturing the essence is a breeze.
Exaggerated more here.
He's looking up in the photo given.
The body (and angle) got to go with it, so that it won't appear wierd.
This is one of the most interesting photos I received.
Worm's eye view.
Most challenging.
I tried such angle in portrait, but not in caricature.
So teh body got to be from worm's eye view too.
Added in the clouds to enhance this effect.
This hair is massive work amongst all.
But her features are fun to draw.
Eye level view, but I gave him a bird's eye view angle, for a change.
This is fun too!
Gave him a back view, based on the angle he faced.
Sorry, but his hairstyle inspired me of those "Godfather" feel.
Thus, I have him an arrogant posture.
Because of his features and expressions, I gave him this "YES!!!" posture, if you know what I meant.
Enjoyed sketching his features.
Caucasian features are always more interesting to sketch.
That's all!
All framed up.
My son and I laid them out in my living room for snapshots.
Surrounding background was deleted. Just too messy to be shown here. Hahaha.....
They gave me sense of achievement and satisfaction.
