SMS ringtone for the youngster?

My sister-in-law (a teacher) played a ringtone called Teen Buzz. She said only the youngster can hear it. Her students used it as SMS ringtone in school, and all of them can hear it when they received SMS during classes. Only she can't hear it. They said it was because she is too old. She's only 33!
I can't hear the ringtone when she played it from her handphone. I can't hear it, but my kids can hear it. My parents-in-law couldn't hear it. Hmmmm...... is it really that we are ....... old? Hmmmm..... Perhaps it was really the case. The youngster can receive that frequency....... Didn't put it up here.... don't know whether got any copyright issues....... Shouldn't be, but just don't want to get involve into these copyright stuff. Try to search online and test it out, if you are really interested.

Hmmm.... just checked online and found this on Wikipedia:-

"Teen Buzz (or Mosquito Ringtone) is a popular ringtone that was hijacked from a technology that was originally used to repel loitering teenagers from shops in the United Kingdom. Inventor Howard Stapleton developed the "Mosquito device" for Compound Security Systems. This device emits a modulated 17khz sound that proves to be a great annoyance to teenagers or anyone younger, but leaves most over twenty years of age unaffected. This is due to presbycusis, a normal loss of acute hearing that occurs with advancing age. Teen Buzz was developed using the same technology, but as a constant 17khz high frequency ringtone. It is primarily used in the classroom, allowing students to be alerted of incoming text messages on their mobile phones without the knowledge of their teachers. Stapleton is impressed and admits to the idea being humorous, but he thought it might be an infringement on his intellectual property rights (NOTICE: No one can patent or copyright a single wavelength, therefore this would not be considered a creative work)."

No wonder. But my wife and elder sis-in-law can hear it.
