Caricature theme - baby graduate

Did a 1-year-old birthday caricature for his brother 2 years ago.
This baby is turning 1 year old soon.
His parents wanted him in a diaper with a mortar board, holding a scroll.

Caricature theme - traditional Indian wedding
Client's brief:-
"I was looking on the internet for different invitiation options and I saw your caricature of the Indian couple getting married.
We are also Indian, and we would like to use caricatures for the engagement party invitations....
I would like to get the Indian Wedding style caricature done as seen on your website.
I have attached (1st Attachment) the copy of the Indian caricature you have already made - and that is the one I will be referencing up on what changes I would like to make.
1. I would like to keep the layout of the bride/groom and clothing, the curtains, the Indian lamp (also lit), the table with the Lord Ganesha statue - elephant statue (no chocolate fountain)
2. I would like to remove the elephant in the background & the moon/clouds.
3. I would like to change the night theme - to a day time theme on the beach - so the picture will look as if we are on the beach since the wedding will be on the beach at sunset -- I have attached a picture of the beach/sunset type feel we are going for (attachment 2) - please add birds in the sky as you see fit.
4. Grooms Face - I have attached 3 pictures of myself - please keep me clean shaven in the pictures - the attachments may show a little scruff that I do not wish to have in the caricature - just as the picture - I do not want a red dot on my forehead.
5. Brides Face - I have attached 2 pictures of my fiance (both sides of her face). She would like the same dress and jewelery (earrings and tilak jewelery on forehead) EXCEPT NO NOSE RING, please. She is making me also tell you to not make her ugly - haha.
That should be everything. Please, feel free to make any artistic changes you feel would make the picture look better - we trust you will do a good job.
Your standard 3/4 weeks should be fine since we would like to be able to have these sent out at the end of January. Please let me know when you think the approximate date for the high res soft copy will be available to download.
Attachments:
1. Attachment 1 is the copy I saw on your site that I would like to replicate with a few changes.
2. Attachment 2 is the idea/theme of the background on the beach during the sunset that I would like to mimic.
3. Attachment 3,4 and 5 are pictures of me from a few different angles
4. Attachment 5 - 6 are pictures of Mona from both angles (wearing black and white in both pics)
Please let me know when/how to transfer you the money - I live in the U.S. if you know of any easier way to send payment.
Thanks again for all of your help - we are really looking forward to seeing the final product! "

Getting more and more of such Indian wedding caricature orders recently.
This one a different setting - beach.
Looks quite good too.

Caricature theme - pool buddies
Client's brief:-
"Heya,
I would like to order a caricature of me and my best friend.
We are both scientists, so could you draw us wearing white labcoat over a pair of jeans and high heels (black for me and dark green for her).
We also like to play pool, so a pool table in the background, with 2 pints of beer on a table with 2 stools or something like that and somewhere on a score board "France 27 - 29 England".
.....
I'm including pictures taken at her birthday party. Please let me know if you need more pics, or different ones.
I am the one on the left with the dreadlocks like hair and she's on the right with the straight hair.
Also I would like to know how much it's going to be and if it's possible to get a soft copy as well?
I live in Singapore, so I'll come and get it when ready."

The client took the caricature in ink and brush with theme. Thus no colour for the high heels.:)
Her response upon seeing this artwork:-
"Woo!!!"

Caricature live sketching for Biotherm Roadshow, Loreal

A 6-hour event (12pm - 6pm) for Biotherm Roadshow outside Tang Plaza, Orchard Road.

I am mentally prepared that it will be a non-stop drawing, given that the caricatures will be given to the public for free.

It wasn't that case, in fact.
Perhaps due to the hot weather today, or the passersby tend to shy away from roadshows (from my 2.5 years of busking in Orchard Road)

The product showcased - Biotherm Aquasource.

This will be my workplace for this afternoon.

I was told to include their product - Biotherm Aquasource in every caricature.
Paper supplied by the client with the logo printed on every piece of drawing paper.

The host - Henry.

The manager (?! )

The ink was not completely dried, and smudged when I inserted it into the plastic bag.

Thus, another one for her. A happier caricature for her.

My client.:)

This was a good one. He and his daughter (above) were happy with the outcome too.

I like this too.

This was my favourite caricature done in this event.
The paper provided was a bit 'oily'. Normal felt-tip pen cannot go on it easily.
I used my brush and fountain pen instead.
However, to my surprise, the ink dried up pretty fast. Thus, the strokes appeared dry.
I use the dry brush style for her caricature. Quite satisfied with this im⋅promp⋅tu approach.

This was a good one to me too, as she gave me a big smile. Happy face, happy caricature.

Me in action. Was requested by the client to wear blue and/or white today, to go with their colour scheme.
See the way I bent like a prawn. Drawing with the paper on my lap. Didn't expect the table was this height. Reminded me days of busking......

Last one, and called it a day.:)

Caricature on poker card - King of Hearts
An oversea order from Texas, United States.
The brief:-
"I was on your website and saw the queen of hearts caricature you designed for one of your customers. I am interested in getting the same thing ......a king of hearts with my fathers face. I want these for a tattoo..."

Was debating with myself, whether I should make the line bolder for the caricature part.
In the end, I dropped that idea, knowing it may end up losing the resemblance, as he doesn't have a unique feature.

Client's brief:-
"Dear Jit,
Hi there! I had recently ordered a caricature for a senior manager, Mr Lee who just retired and we all loved it, thanks! I have a new order again and this time will be for our Japanese Boss’ 60th Birthday. It seems that 60th is a very auspicious birthday in Japan so we hope you can come up with something Uniquely Singaporean for him.
We would like to place the order for:-
* 1 x Caricature with his full body and theme background, all in colour in A3 size
* Proposed brown frame accepted
Would like 3 MUST DRAW items which is 1) our boss riding a Trishaw (sample attached) and 2) some Samsui Women (Hong Tou Jing) and 3) A Tiger feature to symbolize himself (born in Tiger Year) and a figure 60 or 60th Birthday written somewhere suitable. Other complimenting old Singapore Icons can be added in. You can use as a background, the Singapore River, Streets or Warehouses along Clarke Quay or anywhere that looks like OLD Singapore. Reason being my MD is Japanese and has been in Singapore for almost 20years. He is very fond of the old Singapore look, lifestyle and especially pictures/paintings of OLD Singapore."

Caricature live sketching for birthday party
A 2-hour event (6:30pm - 8:30pm) at Hilton Hotel, Ballroom on the 24th floor.
It was a birthday party for the son and daughter of the client. Their birthdays were not on the same day though.

The birthday boy. Nothing to do, and his friends were not here yet. Only entertainment he can find was to get his caricature done first.

He said he looked like an uncle. Hahaha.......

The family members like their 'Gong Gong' caricature.

I like this most! This should be the best caricature done for this evening, I think.

The birthday girl.

The client. He said he looked better than his caricature...... Do you think so too?

This was a close one.

It was a breeze in sketching this boy. How can I missed out his many unique features - thick eyebrows, small eyes, big nose, thin lips, short chin, pointed ears? All this made up his caricature.:)

This was a happy one. Happy lady! Happy caricature!

She was laughing away when I did the pencil sketch.
She said very comical, and can tell it looked like her.
This made me more daring in pushing it further.

This was a good one too, to me. I gave him a full body caricature to end this event.

Satisfaction!.....just looking at some of my artworks for this evening.
