A 5-hours early digital gig (8am - 1:30pm) for Adobe Creative Cloud Launch at Ritz Carlton Hotel and Pan Pacific Hotel (for the media).

The client required 4 caricaturists for this gig, sketching digital caricature on Adobe Photoshop.

I got Reggie, Kamal and Tank to partner me.

Nice setup?!

Kicked start with the 3 speakers for today, with photo reference, whilst they are busy preparing their speech in the ballroom.

Problem of starting drawing from photo is the rest will follow. Thus, a digital live sketching turned out to be all sketching from photo taken on the spot by the photographers assigned to each of the artists.

(She wanted to draw herself with the cup blocking her mouth!)
Good thing is that they can have time to chat with business partners, while watching us to sketch, or attend the talk in the ballroom....

Shot from the 12" Cintiq which I used for this gig.

To standardise, we draw in b/w or grayscale, even though this can be drawn in colour easily. It is just a matter of picking colours or greys.

A shot of the TV screen which the client projects the digital caricatures drawn by us, to show the guests during their tea break.

Kamal and me moved on to Pan Pacific Hotel to continue sketching the media during the lunch (11:30am - 1:30pm). while Reggie and Tank stayed at Ritz Carlton to continue drawing till 1pm.

Due to the dim lighting in the room, and they need to listen to the presentation and chat. Again, we drew based on the photo snapped using my iPhone 5.

The boss!

Job done for the day!
