roving caricature live sketching for Diageo Singapore Pte Ltd

A 3-hours gig (7:30pm - 10:30pm) at 3, Rochester Park.
The client hired Reggie and me as the caricaturists for their event separately.



We only get to know that we need to do roving caricatures for the guests upon our arrival.
Thus, I just grab my pencil, marker, eraser etc with me. Photos were snapped using my iPhone 4S, since I can't carry my Nikon D80 around. Just too heavy for this 3 hours gig.



The caricatures done were hanged up here, so that they don't have to hold it during the party, but when they leave. Nice idea.
The caricatures on top row was drawn by me, while the bottom row are by Reggie.

I got to sit down to do my sketching, since the guests wanted to be drawn seated. Phew!

Some guests left with the caricatures. So we still have space to hang up the newly drawn caricatures.



Initially, I thought this lady will be hard to caricature, but it turned out pretty good. Rather out of my expectation.

caricature theme - Prince and princess wedding @ castle

Client's brief:-
"hi Jit
I love your works!
I'm having my ROM cum wedding in Jan 2012 and is thinking of having our caricatures (myself and fiance) drawn (and framed) to be placed at the entrance of function room.....
Order
Caricature in color marker and theme (with body and background) - A3 size with CD


Theme/ Background
Attachment "Theme" - Need not follow the colours of the costume in the picture, you can change the colours accordingly to blend in with the rest.
Attachment "Sample_1" - I want to have a similar castle in the backgound (prefers to have the design of the castle to match the theme, ie very anime type).


Groom
Draw his facial features using attachment "Gary_2" but draw hairstyle using attachment "Gary_passport". I've attached another attachment "Gary_1 as additional reference. Pants will be the straight cut type.


Bride
Draw my facial features using attachment "Yvonne". Hairstyle would be similar to the bride in attachment "Sample_1". I leave it to your judgement as to whether the necklace is needed or the need to hold the flower (or hold a different flower). Eyelashes to be abit obvious to have the blink blink effect. I want to have my teeth drawn straight (I have one slight protuding front tooth, not sure if you can see that in the photo)


Miscellaneous
Please insert the following anywhere in the caricature (as usual, leave it to you to decide). Letterings should be similar to what you have drawn in attachment "Sample_2".

caricature live sketching for emc National University of Singapore (NUS)

A 2-hours gig, 6-8pm, but extended 15 mins till 8:15pm, at Ben and Jerry, Dempsey Road.


Pretty dim lighting in this restaurant, but still manageable to produce decent caricatures.


My client told me that I am supposed to be one of the guests' friend this evening, as the restaurant doesn't allow my client to bring in artist (to do business here).:D

"....doing a caricature for my friend who will turn 50 year old. His surprise party is on 3 Dec. I would like to depict him in a Manchester united jersey bearing the number 50 and he is holding a filled red wine glass and a bottle of wine with the Petrus label and the year to change to 1961...."
